Have you ever felt like there’s a disconnection between the image you have for yourself and the image of the person you want to be?
It can feel like there’s a divide between yourself and the world around you, and over time, it can continue to drive a wedge between how you feel and the life you want for yourself. Therapy can help unpack all of the complicated thoughts and feelings to make sense of who you truly are and how you envision the life you would like to have for yourself.
Feelings of anxiety and its accompanying thoughts can be overwhelming. This can distract us from healing the core issues: a perception of disconnection, rejection, and abandonment. Struggling with your mental health can be destabilizing, and finding the right person to hold space for us can feel liberating. Loss - the loss of who we imagined ourselves to be and the loss of someone or something close - can throw us into profound feelings of grief; having someone there to hold your hand on your journey can help us heal as we grieve.
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you into therapy, what you’re hoping to get out of our time together, and how I can help as a therapist. Finding ourselves again, finding out who we are, might seem daunting, but a therapist can hold our “bag of bricks” to either hold it with us, take bricks out of our bag, or build a new home.
